Clarence Ronald Kirk, 38, of Oceana, remains in Southern Regional Jail after Wyoming County Circuit Judge Warren McGraw denied a motion for bond reduction Wednesday.
Kirk was arrested May 10 in connection with a robbery at Oceana Pharmacy, according to Prosecutor Mike Cochrane.
Kirk also has a prior felony conviction and additional pending charges, Cochrane said.
“My office will vigorously prosecute those who break into homes or businesses,” Cochrane said. “People have the right to be safe on their property and to believe that their property is secure...
“While Mr. Kirk is presumed innocent at this time, the nature of these charges and his past misconduct required my office to oppose the motion for bond reduction,” Cochrane said.
The defendant, who is represented by Wilbert Payne, remains incarcerated under $10,000 bond at Southern Regional Jail until trial.
