The Lilly Reunion genealogy committee is searching for children of Robert and Frances Moody Lilly who are not on the original family tree.
Barbara Lilly Marsh, of the Lilly Historical Society, listed the following nine children:
- Mary Polly married John Moody
- Nancy married Robert Richardson
- Judith married Rev. Josiah Meador
- Edmond married Edith Meador
- Thomas married Rosanna Meador
- Robert Jr., born 1776 and came to Montgomery County while a boy and married Obedience Conley
- William married Margaret Burke, Jessie Crawford, and Frances Shumate
- Jane married Poindexter Toney
- Frances Margaret married Mathew Pack.
The committee is interested in obtaining a couple of books mentioned in James Richardson’s research. “The History of Logan County” by Henry Clay Ragland lists the names of most of Robert Jr.’s children and their spouses. “The Toney Family History” by Elma Henning and Merle Rummel Edmond is the other book.
Thomas, Judith, William and Frances Margaret are the children of Robert and Frances Lilly whose descendants are the majority of the attendance of the Lilly Family Reunion.
The other lines, Robert Jr., Mary Polly Lilly Moody, Nancy Lilly Richardson and Jane Lilly Toney, are welcome to attend this year’s event.
Anyone with any information on any of these children is asked to bring it to the reunion, or contact Melba Underwood at 304-787-3102 or e-mail melba32@suddenlink.net.
Anyone searching for information can come and look through the records at the reunion’s Genealogy Booth.
If your genealogy line connects to any of the children of Frances and Robert Lilly, you are considered part of the Lilly family of West Virginia.
