Stabbing victim won’t press charges

— A Beckley man who was stabbed Saturday night declined to press charges against his alleged attacker, officials said.

Bland Lester reportedly sustained several stab wounds and some lacerations that he’d gotten by punching his fist through a glass window Saturday night, according to officials.

Lester walked inside the One Stop Exxon gas station on North Eisenhower Drive, and Raleigh County Sheriff’s deputies were called around 10:30 p.m.

Lester told a deputy that he did not want to press charges against his assailant, whose name had not been released by officials Monday. He was transported to Beckley-Appalachian Regional Hospital for treatment.

Lester declined to comment on the incident Monday.
