Mabscott — The United States Postal Inspection Service is investigating a break-in at the Mabscott Post Office on Chestnut Street over the weekend.

Ryan Amstrone, postal inspector and public information officer said the break-in occurred sometime after the post office closed at noon on Saturday and about 1:19 p.m. Sunday when it was reported.

Amstrone said there was very little of value taken and there are not leads on suspects at this time.

The post office was opened for business on Monday.

On Tuesday workers were replacing an interior door that leads to the back mailroom of the Mabscott Post Office.

Anyone with information on this break-in should contact the United States Inspection Service 877-876-2455 to contact the investigator handling the case.
