BECKLEY — The Steffans of Daniels, from left, Matthew, Kimberly and Jeff, constructed a snow duck with the first good, packing snow of the winter. Jeff explained the family has a real pet duck, Lilly, that has become a neighborhood favorite. The duck spends its days hanging around the family yard. Lilly, who is standing next to her snowy alter-ego, was the inspiration for the snow duck, Jeff said. “It took us about two hours and we had to roll snow logs instead of balls and construct it from those,” he said. Matthew, 12, and Kimberly, 14, had the day off from school “so I took the day off from work and enjoyed playing in the snow with them,” he said. Neighbors have already been stopping by to look at the large snow duck and get pictures before it melts.
