LEWISBURG — A woman was flown to a Charleston hospital Tuesday after a pickup truck struck her at the main intersection in downtown Lewisburg, police said.
Denise Michele Graves, 51, was attempting to cross the intersection at Jefferson and Washington streets around 12:30 p.m. when she was struck by a 2008 full-size Chevrolet pickup driven by Samantha Jean Workman, 20, of Meadow Bridge, Lewisburg Police Chief Stover said.
Graves was airlifted to Charleston Area Medical Center, where she remained under evaluation late Tuesday afternoon, according to Stover.
The accident remains under investigation because police have not been able to speak with Graves, Stover said. Workman has not been cited.
A witness told police Workman had a green light, Stover said. Workman was not injured, but she was shaken. No passengers were in the pickup.
Deputy chief C.J. Teubert is handling the investigation.
