New business to host grand opening Saturday

— Mary Jo Pitzer, owner of the Rust & Roses in Hinton, says Nov. 29 is the big day for the new business.
“We are going to open our doors for the first time and also have our grand-opening celebration the same day,” Pitzer said. “We’ll have hot cider, cookies and other refreshments.”
The store will also have a drawing for one of its famous “root” candles.
“Nothing can compare to the quality of a root candle,” Pitzer said. “Each is carefully handcrafted using processes mastered through five generations of craftsmanship going back to 1869.”
The new store also offers primitives, Toland yard flags and poles, handmade wreaths, Christmas trees, Longaberger baskets and pottery and some furniture.
“We also have handmade quilts, aprons, pillows, window treatments and pictures,” Pitzer said. “I guess you could say we have a little bit of everything.”
Collectibles include Department 56 Christmas villages and Boyd’s Bears.
“These are all retired and very worthwhile collectibles,” Pitzer said.
Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
