Sheriff: Fairlea hotel clerk robbed at knifepoint

Greenbrier County authorities are searching for a man they say robbed a hotel clerk at knifepoint.

The robbery at Best Value Inn on Fair Street in Fairlea was reported at 4:59 a.m. Tuesday, Sheriff Jim Childers said. The male suspect was armed with a knife and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

Deputies, State Police and Ronceverte and Lewisburg officers are investigating, Childers said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 white man, weighing about 150 pounds, Deputy G.R. Workman said. The suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood on his head and a black cloth across the lower part of his face.
