A Raleigh County man was shot in the back of the head while riding in a car Thursday afternoon, and sheriff’s deputies say a suspect they questioned has admitted to pulling the trigger.
Deputies responded to a fight call on Pluto Road in Shady Spring and found that a car driven by Chelsie Williams, no age or hometown available, had been struck by gunfire, according to Chief Deputy Steve Tanner.
A passenger in Williams’ car, Shady Spring resident Chris-topher Palmer, was struck in the back of the head, Tanner said. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition as of Thursday afternoon. Palmer’s age was not available.
As of Thursday afternoon, deputies were interviewing Cameron M. Taylor, 20, of Shady Spring, Tanner said. Taylor admitted to shooting the car. However, no charges had been filed.
The investigation, headed by Sgt. Larry Lilly, is ongoing, Tanner said.
