Gasoline pump leaks at store

Emergency crews in Raleigh County handled gasoline leaking from a pump Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident at the Crab Orchard Little General was reported to the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center around 3 p.m. Gasoline from a pump had leaked into the parking lot and the fuel was headed for Robert C. Byrd Drive. However, crews managed to stop the flow.

No immediate danger was reported, the EOC said.

The Sophia Area and Sophia City volunteer fire departments and Evergreen Environmental Management were all called to the scene.
