Burning Rock Off-Road Park will hold its grand opening Friday and Saturday, according to company officials.
Burning Rock is located just outside Beckley on W.Va. 16, near Sophia.
It spans nearly 8,000 acres of southern West Virginia forest and offers nearly 100 miles of trails for every skill level.
“We have been working hard on the trailhead building and on the trails themselves for the last several months,” said Bryan Helmer, executive director of the park. “We are anxious to show West Virginia citizens and visitors alike why our trail system is drawing such acclaim from across the country.”
The kickoff activities will include a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, during which Gov. Joe Manchin will officially open the off-road park.
Friday events include a free outdoor concert at 7 p.m. by the Davisson Brothers Band.
Saturday events include children’s games, competitions and sunrise to sunset trail rides.
The evening concludes with a 7 p.m. concert by Buckstone, officials said.
The newly developed on-site campground will also be officially opened.
Visitors may stay overnight from Friday until Sunday in tents or RV sites, officials added.
Those who attend the weekend’s activities may also register to win a new DVX 250.
