One driver injured in head-on car wreck

Emergency officials said one person was taken to a local hospital following a head-on accident Friday.
The accident occurred on W.Va. 3 just past Riverside Rest near Pence Springs, officials said. The accident happened just before noon.
Alderson Ambulance Service transported the injured driver to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea. There was no word on the extent of that driver’s injuries. The other driver and a passenger were apparently not injured in the accident, officials added.
The Summers County Sheriff's Department is investigating. There was no word on what caused the accident, officials said.
The Alderson Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services and Tri-County Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident.
