An alleged drug deal at the Wyoming County Day Report Center in Pineville was squelched Friday by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department, resulting is several arrests.
Toni Gibson, 46, of Lynco, was charged with possession without a prescription in connection with the incident, according to Chief Deputy Randall Aliff.
Gibson was free on bond in Wyoming County after robbing a local pharmacy, Aliff said. She had apparently been placed on probation in Raleigh County, and placed in the Day Report Center, for robbing a pharmacy there, Aliff explained.
Officials have requested her bond be revoked in Wyoming County and she be charged with a probation violation in Raleigh County, Aliff said.
Rebecca Sue Cook, 33, of Josephine, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance; she allegedly was providing Gibson with the drugs, Aliff said.
In the same car that transported Cook to the center, deputies also arrested the following:
- Tonya Garreston, 36, of Rhodell, two counts of possession with intent to deliver.
- Ricky Cook, 45, of Itmann, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.
- Robert Caldwell, 48, of Rhodell, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.
Deputies also confiscated a large quantity of pills from the vehicle and from Gibson, Aliff said.
The arrests were made following a tip about the drug deal, Aliff noted.
The investigation is continuing.
