Emergency service crews from Raleigh and Fayette counties worked in the woods to reach an ATV wreck victim Saturday night, authorities reported.
The wreck was reported shortly after 8 p.m. According to the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center, a man wrecked an ATV four or five miles into the woods near Mill Creek. Because the wreck could be in either Raleigh or Fayette county, crews from both jurisdictions were responding.
No concrete information was available about the man’s identity or condition, the Raleigh County EOC said.
The Fayette County rope rescue team was called to the scene, according to the Fayette EOC, but a HealthNet helicopter could not make it from Charleston because of a brewing storm.
The Bradley-Prosperity and Mount Hope fire departments, the National Park Service and both General and Jan-Care ambulance services were also sent to the scene, according to the Raleigh EOC.
