Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies say a wo-man’s car ran off Coal City Road twice, hit another vehicle, struck a utility pole and overturned Thursday night.
Jean A. Cook, 44, of Coal City, was eastbound on Coal City Road when she lost control of her 1996 Cadillac, Capt. Gordon Gregory said. Cook ran off the right side into a ditch, striking a driveway.
Cook then re-entered the road and struck a 1999 Geo Tracker driven by Thomas E. White, 24, of Coal City, Gregory said. The Cadillac left the roadway again, struck a utility pole and overturned.
Both Cook and a passenger in her car, Larry Cook, 46, no hometown listed, were taken to Raleigh General Hospital, Gregory said. Jean Cook was airlifted to an unknown location by HealthNet. White was not hurt.
Gregory said both Jean and Larry Cook have been released.
The accident remains under investigation by Deputy James Williams.
