Arrest made in child neglect case

A Summersville man is facing multiple charges, including child neglect.
According to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, Fred Allen Bucklew II has been charged with felony destruction of property, child neglect creating a risk of injury, battery, assault and battery on a police officer.
Deputy Walter Shafer said Bucklew is accused of using an ATV to ram parked vehicles at a residence on Armstrong Road at 5:05 p.m. Sunday. Bucklew allegedly had a small child on the ATV who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
Bucklew was located and taken into custody. He was transported to Summersville Memorial Hospital after complaining about chest pains. Bucklew then allegedly physically assaulted Shafer, Deputy Tom Baker and hospital staff.
