A Beckley man charged with shooting a woman in the hand early Sunday morning has been arrested, police say.
Robert Mitchell Treadway, 36, of 1512 S. Kanawha St., was arrested by State Police in Fayette County Monday, said Detective Sgt. David Allard of the Beckley Police Department.
About 4 a.m. Sunday, Beckley Police responded to Treadway’s address, reportedly because an 18-year-old woman had been shot in the hand, according to a release from Detective Sgt. Dean R. Bailey. The suspect, identified as Treadway, had fled the scene before officers arrived. Officers had planned to obtain malicious wounding and wanton endangerment warrants.
The victim was taken to Raleigh General Hospital for treatment, Bailey said. Her injuries were described as minor and not life-threatening.
Patrolwoman Dawn R. Smith is case’s investigating officer, and Bailey, Patrolman Ben Zutaut and Patrolman Justin Hudnall assisted.
