A Pineville man has been charged with 47 counts of possession of child pornography.
David Walter Martin Jr., 35, was arrested in Oceana and charged Tuesday in connection with an investigation that began March 15, according to Wyoming County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Randall Aliff.
Martin’s bond has been set at $150,000; he remained in Southern Regional Jail late Tuesday.
The initial investigation stemmed from a domestic dispute in Mullens, which escalated into a drug trafficking quest. In turn, a search warrant and confiscation of several items, including DVDs, led to the arrest, Aliff said.
More charges are expected, Aliff said.
Capt. Don Cook, of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department and part of the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, headed the investigation, which also involved the Mullens Police Department.
The investigation is continuing.
