Meeting to discuss diet and behavior disorders

Register-Herald Reporter

Families with children who have behavioral or learning disorders can attend a meeting at Daniel’s Bible Church July 24 at 7 p.m. focusing on diets as a way to help.

The presentation, hosted by Cherri Johns, is a discussion of how a dietary exercise called the Feingold Program has helped her child with dyslexia. The Feingold Program, designed to see if certain foods or food additives were triggering particular symptoms in the 1960s and 1970s, is a pure, all-natural diet that eliminates artificial coloring, flavoring, preservatives and sweeteners from one’s diet.

According to Feingoldprogram.org, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is found in many children and adults. Other behavioral disorders the Feingold Program may help include: OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), ODD (oppositional defiant disorder), bi-polar disorder, depression, Tourette syndrome (TS), and developmental delays.

By attending this presentation, you will learn how this program has affected the lives of local families.

This is a free presentation for informational purposes only and the Feingold Association is a nonprofit organization. For more information, call Johns at 254-9874.
