Virginia man gets probation

A 23-year-old Lynchburg, Va., received a one- to 15-year suspended sentence with 18 months’ probation Wednesday after pleading guilty before Raleigh County Circuit Court Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick to delivery of a controlled substance.

Ryan Keith Hudnall was also ordered to pay $300 restitution.



Kevin Earl Cook, 25, of Lynco, will serve one to three years in prison after pleading guilty to attempt to commit a felony, daytime burglary.

Cook’s sentence will run concurrently with a one- to three-year sentence he is currently serving for an earlier conviction for attempt to commit a felony, grand larceny.



Tuesday, Kirkpatrick sentenced a 29-year-old Egeria woman to one to 10 years in prison.

Susan Carol Burnette’s sentence was the result of a guilty plea to third-offense shoplifting.

Burnette was arrested Oct. 31, 2007, for stealing jeans and other items from the Beckley Wal-Mart.



Also Tuesday, Evan Donnell Wagner, 21, of Beckley, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit a felony.

Wagner will be sentenced Aug. 8 at 9 a.m.
