Numerous activities are planned for the 2009 New River Gorge Heritage Festival and Fourth of July celebration in Fayetteville.
Activities are available for all age groups throughout the festival.
Fayetteville has celebrated the festival since 1951. Events scheduled today include a free evening concert and street dance featuring Wild Rumpus at 7 p.m. and The Carpenter Ants from 8 to 9:30 p.m. at Town Square.
There will be food vendors as well as an antique and quilt show. The Red Cross will conduct a blood drive at the courthouse.
The community choir will perform at 4 p.m. at Town Square.
The carnival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. in the town park.
