One man escaped with only minor injuries after two vehicles collided head-on in Fayette County Wednesday, authorities said.
Around 2:45 p.m., the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a two-vehicle head-on collision on Gatewood Road, near Fayetteville and Cantrell’s Ultimate Rafting, Sheriff Steve Kessler said.
A gray 1992 Jeep Cherokee driven by George Ian Cook, 19, of Fayetteville, apparently crossed the center line and collided head-on with a white 2004 Ford F-250 pickup driven by Ronald Milam, 49, of Fayetteville, Kessler said. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Milam sustained minor injuries and was taken to Plateau Medical Center, Kessler said. Cook was not hurt.
A wet roadway may have been a contributing factor, Kessler said. No charges have been filed against either driver. The collision remains under investigation by Deputies D.C. Wysong and J.M. Pack.
