Raleigh County sheriff’s deputies say three other vehicles were involved in a coal truck wreck that shut down Harper Road for two hours Thursday.
David Sauls, 38, of Glen Daniel, was driving a coal truck west on W.Va. 3 near Mount Tabor, Capt. Gordon Gregory said. Through Cpl. T.L. Miles’ preliminary investigation, she learned Liegh Clyburn, 25, of Harper, was driving a 1983 Chevy pickup east on the roadway and crossed the center line.
Clyburn’s vehicle then apparently struck the coal truck and another vehicle, Gregory said. A “chain reaction” with other vehicles resulted.
Other drivers involved were Carol Dye, 58, of Mullens, who was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris, and Hansel Parsons, 23, of Crab Orchard, who was driving a 1998 Chevy Blazer, Gregory said.
Dye was the only person injured, and she was taken to Raleigh General Hospital, Gregory said.
The accident remains under investigation, Gregory said.
