<b><i>Breaking News:</b> </i> DEBATE OFF between NASA scientist and Massey CEO

— Conflicting schedules appear to have nixed a debate between NASA climate scientist Dr. James Hansen and Massey Energy CEO Don Blankenship.
Originally the two had been scheduled to discuss mountaintop mining and other related issues today at 1 p.m. at Mountain State University in Beckley.
However, a Massey spokesperson said it didn’t work with Blankenship’s schedule and that he would be glad to debate Hansen on television Thursday evening at 7 p.m. That time didn’t work for Hansen, a spokesman for Coal River Mountain Watch told The Register-Herald late this morning.
When further information on a future meeting between Hansen and Blankenship becomes available it will be posted on this Web site.
