Two missing children had law enforcement searching the area behind Lewis Ritchie Apartments Saturday in Beckley.
Police spent about 45 minutes searching for a missing 7-year old and 11-year old. Both children were found safe.
“It’s a maze of paths back there and a good bit of land,” said Capt. Gary Raines of the Beckley Fire Department.
“It’s kind of parallel to Eisenhower Drive or U.S. 19, and then you’ve got Stanaford Road wedged between the two.”
The Raleigh County Search and Rescue Team, officers and K-9s from the Beckley Police Department and UTVs from the Beckley and Beaver fire departments were called to the scene.
