For more than 50 years, the Oak Hill Swim Club has offered a safe summer place for kids and adults. This summer is no different.
The pool opens for the season this Saturday and will follow a schedule of 12:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The annual School’s Out party is set for Monday with younger students from 1 to 4 p.m. and older students from 5 to 8 p.m. Guest days are Mondays beginning June 15.
According to Board President Lisa Morrison, dues are $325 per year with a one-time membership initiation of $100, which may be paid in installments. The pool is easy to access, just off Virginia Street by car or off the White Oak Trail on foot or by bicycle.
Members and nonmembers may also rent the pool for parties. Fees are based on number of hours and number of guests.
The pool is staffed by Manager Andy Kees and 11 certified lifeguards. Lifeguards are required to have completed a Red Cross lifesaving course, which must be renewed every three years. They are also required to know first aid and CPR.
Concessions will not be offered this year, but members can bring coolers. No alcoholic beverages or glass containers are permitted.
Morrison noted that if anyone would like to discuss leasing the concession space, the board is open to offers.
A pop machine and candy machines will be available.
