Tree falls onto street, disabling power lines

By Christian Giggenbach
Register-Herald reporter

Greenbrier County 911 dispatchers reported Saturday that a tree fell onto a Lewisburg city street, disabling some power lines.

No injuries were reported from the incident, which occurred about 3:51 p.m. Saturday. Immediate property damage and what made the tree fall were unknown.

An eyewitness said the tree was about 50 to 60 feet tall and toppled power lines when it fell onto Court Street, about two blocks from the county courthouse.

Lewisburg Fire, Fairlea EMS and Lewisburg police responded to the incident.
