Two adults, one child hurt in collision

— Two adults and one child were taken to local hospitals after two vehicles collided in Fayette County Saturday, authorities said.
The accident at the W.Va. 16 and Appalachian Drive intersection, located between Oak Hill and Fayetteville, was reported around 2:15 p.m. Saturday, according to a release from Meredith Gray, public information officer for the Fayetteville and Ansted fire department.
Circumstances behind the accident were unknown, but Gray said the wreck involved two sedans that sustained frontal and side damage. Firefighters had to remove the roof and doors of one vehicle to extricate an adult woman and a male child. Both remained conscious and were taken to local hospitals.
In the second vehicle, an adult man also had to be extricated, Gray said. He sustained a possible head injury and a broken right arm, but he also remained conscious. He was taken to a local hospital, as well.
The West Virginia State Police are investigating, Gray said.
