A Coal City man accused of killing his son, a Minden man accused of robbing a Beaver bank and a Beckley man charged with sexually abusing one of his children led the list of those indicted by a Raleigh County grand jury, the prosecutor’s office said Thursday.
Gary Wayne Garretson, 43, is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the Nov. 29 shooting death of his 3-year-old son.
According to an incident report on file at Raleigh County Magistrate Court, Garretson told police he pointed the 12-gauge shotgun in the direction of his son and pulled the trigger, not realizing the gun was loaded.
Garretson told authorities he had done the same thing in the past as a “bit of a game” with his son.
Gary A. Kincaid, 57, of Minden, is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery; hoax bomb; grand larceny; wanton endangerment; two counts of obstructing a law enforcement officer; threats of terrorist; and being a felon in unlawful possession of a firearm.
Kincaid allegedly robbed the Chase Bank in Beaver on Feb. 9, telling the clerk he had a bomb he would detonate if they did not comply.
Michael Ray Crum, 40, who is accused of sexually molesting his son, faces more than 40 counts ranging from child abuse to sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.
