Raleigh County Circuit Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick Friday accepted three guilty pleas from a 51-year-old Beckley man.
James Hackworth pleaded guilty to one count each of second-offense DUI, fleeing on foot and driving while revoked for DUI.
Assistant prosecutor Tom MacAulay explained Hackworth’s pleas stemmed from a Feb. 16 incident during which a Beckley police officer who knew Hackworth did not have a license attempted to pull him over. Hackworth, however, refused to pull over, leading the officer across several streets before stopping the car and fleeing on foot.
When caught, MacAulay said, Hackworth’s blood alcohol level was .140.
Hackworth will be sentenced June 12.
