A woman was taken into custody late Tuesday night after State Police say she caused two wrecks near the West Virginia Turnpike.
Sometime before 11 p.m., Cpl. R.A. Maddy said, a woman driving a red Ford F-150 pickup truck crashed into a barrier at the North Beckley toll booth. The driver fled the scene. Afterward, she reportedly struck a telephone pole near Tamarack and the Beckley Travel Plaza.
The driver fled on foot, but she was eventually taken into custody, Maddy said.
The driver’s identity was not available Wednesday.
