In our ongoing effort to help educate the public as to who the people are that seek election to public office, The Register-Herald is presenting you the opportunity to tell the community in your words why they should vote for you in the May primary. There is no charge for this service.
These campaign profiles — which we are calling “In Their Own Words” — will let you say exactly what you want the voters to know about you and why you wish to serve in an elected public office.
E-mail to us, in no more than 500 words, what you believe qualifies you to hold office. Information can include, but is not limited to, education, work/job experience, life experience, personal information and the main reasons you decided to run. The word limit will be strictly adhered to and The Register-Herald will cut submissions exactly at 500 words whether it is at the end of a sentence or not. All words are counted, including the, a, etc.
Your e-mail should also include daytime and nighttime telephone and cell phone numbers and an attachment with your photograph. Your e-mail should be sent to letters@register-herald.com and should be labeled in Caps starting with your last name and the words candidate profile (Example-NUCKOLS CANDIDATE PROFILE). The deadline is April 1; there will be no exceptions.
After you have sent your e-mail, please contact us by telephone to verify that we have received it.
For verification purposes or to have other questions answered, call me at 255-4460 or managing editor Dawn A. Dayton at 255-4459.
We can also be reached toll free at 1-800-950-0250, extensions 460 or 459.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to deliver your message to the voters.
