CHARLESTON — Two Nicholas County firefighters who perished while battling a blaze last month were honored Thursday by the West Virginia Senate.
Firefighters Johnnie Hammons and Timothy Nicholas were trapped when the roof of a mobile home caved in Feb. 20 near Craigsville.
“Their passing not only brought to mind the dangerous profession of firefighting, but also the dedication and commitment to community service of volunteer firefighters,” SR44 said.
