Riled Raleigh taxpayers plan ‘tea party’

Some Raleigh County citizens say they are tired of the federal government bailouts and massive spending of taxpayer dollars.
“Many taxpayers feel we are being taxed without representation,” said Steve O’Brien, an organizer of a petition-signing event set for Saturday in Beckley. “Many are tired of seeing massive amounts of tax dollars being spent without knowing where it’s going. We believe it will eventually lead to even higher taxes.”
O’Brien says the event is being called a “Tea Party” as a reference to the historic “Boston Tea Party” in 1773.
