Former assessor Nancy Sartor to seek position again

Nancy Sartor announced she will seek election as assessor of Greenbrier County.

In 2001, Sartor was elected as county assessor. During her years in office she was able to upgrade the assessor’s office and modernize much needed computer hardware.

She implemented the newly adopted Integrated Assessment System provided by the state Tax Department. Staff members were trained in current practices and procedures, which also helped to provide the best service possible to the taxpayers of Greenbrier County.

Under Sartor’s leadership, the www.greenbrierassessor.com Web site was developed to allow the general public to view county tax maps, which had been digital for many years, but only viewable on paper.

Public information from the courthouse became available online for the first time.

In 2005, Sartor completed her graduate work at West Virginia University and received a master’s degree in public health.

She obtained her undergraduate degree from Greenbrier County Community College/Bluefield State in 1991.

Her experience also includes 11 years with the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and several years in mortgage lending with local banks.

Sartor is a member of the Greenbrier Valley, West Virginia and National Association of Realtors and has been a real estate broker for over 30 years.

She is self-employed and manages several rental properties in western Greenbrier County.

Sartor was elected to the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee, serving as secretary, and is a member of the Democratic Women’s Club where she serves as secretary-treasurer.
