Fayette man indicted on two firearm charges

A Fayette County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury, charged with two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Daniel Robert Carte, 37, of Pax, was indicted by federal grand jury in Charleston Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Carte is charged with possessing a 9 mm Glock Model 19 pistol July 25, 2006, and on July 27, 2006, possessing a Savage Arms Model 65 M .22 Magnum rifle and a Remington Model 9 12-gauge shotgun, according to the indictment. Carte had been convicted of grand larceny in Nicholas County in December 1997.
Carte faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
