LEWISBURG — The Greenbrier County Board of Education has hired George Brooks II as its new transportation supervisor.
Brooks replaces longtime supervisor Kenny Baker, who recently retired after a 32-year career with the county school system.
“Mr. Baker served the children of Greenbrier County extremely well for 32 years,” Superintendent John Curry said. “Mr. Brooks’ previous experience as a bus driver, fire chief of Rainelle, businessman and involvement with community and church activities for children gives him a skill set which will allow him to provide great service to the children of Greenbrier County through his position.”
Brooks is a 1976 graduate of Greenbrier West High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Rainelle. He resides in Rainelle with his wife, Mary.
“The safety of our students will continue to be our top priority,” Brooks said.
