Gun control won’t make citizens safer
“This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead in the future.” — Adolph Hitler, 1935, on the Weapons Act of Nazi Germany
What is “gun control”? It’s the illusion that if guns are taken out of the hands of honest, law-abiding citizens that somehow you are making them safer. The exact opposite is true. There is an old saying, when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. Gun control will create a nation of victims, not free citizens who constitutionally are guaranteed that right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
I did an experiment. I placed an unloaded weapon and a loaded weapon on the top of my gun cabinet for a year. At the end of that year, no one was harmed or killed by those weapons. If I chose to interject human interaction, I could use those guns with deadly force, but the guns themselves could not inflict harm without human interaction.
The conclusion? Make gun crimes punishable by death or life imprisonment without possibility of parole. Get the bad citizens off the street and let the honest, decent, hardworking Americans own guns to protect themselves and punish gun crimes with the harshest punishment possible. I think this would be better than unarming law-abiding citizens.
