Please learn about the Gospel Jesus preached

My purpose in writing these letters is the hope that someone will be encouraged to learn about the Gospel Jesus preached in the New Testament writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, so that God’s Word may be served and His Kingdom enlarged.

It may be someone who has never read it before and has decided to learn about it for themselves so they won’t have to take someone else’s word for it. They may have come to a point where they feel something is not quite right in their life and they want to find a Way to make things better.

I would also encourage those who have read it to have another look. It may amaze you that every time you read it you will find something you hadn’t noticed before. Jesus says in those writings, those who have shall receive more.

I would even encourage preachers to read it anew, to pray sincerely that they are preaching only the same Gospel that Jesus preached.  Jesus said he had come to preach the acceptable year of the Lord. I wonder if there are any preachers willing to preach only from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John for an entire year. Blessings would flow.

And how many individuals would dedicate themselves to a consecrated year of obedience to the teachings of Christ only?

In those writings you will learn that Jesus preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He teaches by parables what Heaven is like, how it may start as a small idea or hope that can grow to fill your heart and mind and literally change your life. He tells in very plain words what you must do if you are really sincere about wanting to go to Heaven.

Jesus said when He returned to the Father, He would send a Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, which is the Holy Ghost, to teach us in all things. One of the meanings of “Amen” is may it be so. Amen.

Fireworks disturbed the peace in Oak Hill

Can someone please tell me why the current fireworks law in the state of West Virginia is never enforced?

The law states that anything that flies into the air, such as a bottle rocket, or anything that explodes is illegal in West Virginia. Yet literally for a month leading up to the Fourth of July, you could hear explosions and see bottle rockets flying into the air almost every night of the week.

Don’t get me wrong. I have no problem whatsoever with anyone using fireworks on the Fourth of July as I myself did it for years. The problem that I have is what is being used is completely illegal. The explosions are most likely M-80s and the bottle rockets being used look like something out of a professional fireworks show.

With that being said, anyone having to get up early and go to work the next morning should be able to lie down in their bed at night and get a decent night’s sleep. In the city of Oak Hill that has become next to impossible.
