No justification for sin so take a moral stand

 

In regard to the letter of Christopher Burroughs of Cool Ridge.

I would like to say, I stand firmly on the word of God, “Thus saith the Lord,” and believe what God’s word teaches regarding homosexuality. God is the judge and He will judge everyone. You stated in your letter and I quote, “What side of history do you want to be on and what kind of person do you want to be at heart?” I want to be on the winning side, and that is God’s side, not what man or history has to say.

Read Leviticus 18:22: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind; it is abomination.

You also mentioned people are born that way; not true. God’s word states in Genesis 1:27: “God made both man and woman in his image.” Neither man nor woman is made more in the image of God than the other. God ordained marriage between man and woman: Genesis 1:28: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.” God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.

God does not condone sin; there is no justification for it. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of sin. II Peter 2:6: “God turned the city into ashes.” God judges sin; He hates sin, but loves the sinner.

Eph. 5:5 “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.”

Paul is not saying that believers should keep away from all unbelievers. Jesus taught his followers to befriend sinners and lead them to Him. Instead, Paul is speaking against condoning or adapting the lifestyle of people who make excuses for bad behavior and recommend the practice to others. Ask for forgiveness and be saved out of sin.

I Corinthians 6:9 “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.”

Stop and consider the young children and teenagers who are being influenced with the immorality that is raging in our world today, and take a stand for what is right.
