Support our baseball team, local stadium

Please come out and support your West Virginia Miners baseball team and Linda K. Epling Stadium. A visit to the stadium and watching a Miner’s baseball game is a great and enjoyable way to spend a summer evening outdoors.

The stadium is beautiful and is a tobacco-free, alcohol-free venue that is family-oriented and a great place for children.

The game itself is great, but there are many other added attractions and activities to make your visit more enjoyable.

Action and entertainment is almost continuous beginning with the antics of mascots Miner Mike, Mini Mike and Miner Michelle, plus Big Paul aka “Maniac” and his group of loyal Maniacs fans. Add the on-field, between-innings games of Jesse and Gary involving several participating fans, plus Lucky Number prizes awarded throughout the game with more prizes from participating sponsors on promotional nights, reasonable ticket prices, great concessions, fireworks on special occasions, the giant Jumbotron beyond centerfield has many laughable pictures and sounds and Big Paul and his loyal fans welcome each batter to the plate. The Eplings built a baseball facility for Woodrow Wilson and one for WVU Tech.

Linda K. Epling Stadium was built as a result of a suggestion by Mrs. Epling to husband Doug that he should build one more stadium, one for the city of Beckley and surrounding area.

Linda K. Epling Stadium was completed in 2010, not as a for-profit, financial venture, but as a community asset for the enjoyment of the community as a whole.

The stadium and the West Virginia Miners baseball team need and deserve great fan support so please come out and help me and my daughter, my niece and nephew and all the other great fans cheer them on toward another winning season.

Thanks to the Miners organization, my daughter, my two nieces and nephews and many others. Last season during the final week, which ended on a Saturday night at League Stadium in Huntingburg, Indiana, with the miners winning the prospect League championship, was one of the most enjoyable and exciting weeks of an entire lifetime.
