Mountaintop removal is killing residents
The people who live in these mountains depend on them for our health and well-being and MTR is blowing them up.
These mountains and their communities are what have shaped who we are, not the coal industry. Our people were here long before coal was discovered. IF MTR is doing such great work, let us back in to our mountains. We should be talking about the valley or hollow lands that are already inhabited. People are being forced out of their native communities.
Who is it that is going to be here for your “wreck-laimed” lands in 50 years? There will be no people left living here and no healthy water to sustain life.
Communities next to MTR operations are depopulated (by any means necessary) in order to supply jobs to people. This is barbaric. The people in communities near MTR operations are constantly being exposed to an extremely unhealthy environment. We live where you blast.
How it was that we got labeled as “the extremist” is beyond me. All we want is a healthy place to live with clean air and water. We are obviously fighting the practice of MTR because it is killing us. I challenge all of the local Reps to come to Lindytown and let us know one good thing that MTR has done for this community.
We live here and have always lived here. We won’t leave to make room for more expanding MTR; therefore, you must stop. This doesn’t mean that coal production will stop. It means that jobs will go through the roof because they will still need the coal as it is still 46 percent of our electricity. Let’s be realistic.

Let’s think about what socialism really means
Each day, our great nation moves closer and closer to what we once stood against: Godless socialism. The socialist regime in the White House has done nothing good for the country. It has pushed its socialist agenda further and further into the lives of the American people. This must be stopped.
America is a Christian, capitalist nation. By pursuing socialism, we are contradicting our Christian beliefs. Jesus was a capitalist. Jesus believed in the power of the individual. He would not stand for today’s altruist ideas, such as helping one’s brothers for the betterment of mankind. If Jesus were alive today, he would be making a stand for corporations, defending their right to make billions of dollars. Isn’t it obvious in the Bible?
Socialism is a flawed idea of happiness caused by misplaced values. No one is equal, or should be treated so. Some are destined to make money, while others deserve living on the streets. We are not all equal. Isn’t it clear in the Declaration of Independence?
As the only country left in this world with its values in the right place, we must make a stand against this plague of socialism. We must replace our socialist politicians with capable, Christian politicians, who are willing to help defend corporations and their executives. No one should be punished for being good at making money. We must make a stand as Americans, and defend our rights to make money and love God.
