Rahall, Pugh worked to reopen service road

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Congressman Rahall and Mayor Pugh for their dedicated work with the U.S. Postal Service in reopening the postal service road connecting Industrial Drive and Ragland Road.

When I first contacted Congressman Rahall, he was on vacation at Myrtle Beach. He took immediate action spending three complete days on this request. In addition, on Sept. 13, Congressman Rahall drove from Washington, D.C., into Beckley to personally attend the meeting he had scheduled with the Post Office and many citizens affected by this closure.

Mayor Pugh also spent a great deal of time on this request. After an agreement was reached at the meeting, he had the Postal Service road reopened in one hour.

The U.S. Postal Service had closed this road due to speeding and vehicles not stopping at the stop signs. Now it is up to us citizens to adhere to the traffic regulations on this road.
