Pray for West Virginia

Time and time again I wonder why is West Virginia last. We have 300 years of coal, I learned at Mountain State, yet it is not being used to uplift West Virginia’s economy.

No. 2, West Virginia has 75 percent forest and I’m beginning to see some progress of lumber beginning to move and it should be sold to other states less fortunate for furniture, 2 x 4s, etc.

We also have vast amounts of natural gas deposits all over the state. So why are we last? The rich want us last. There are soup kitchens in Beckley, Helping Hands, etc. John D. Rockefeller IV has enough money to donate to the state he said he wanted to help. He won’t. The love of money is the root of all evil. And Congressman Rahall knows about the drugs in Beckley. So do the sheriff and the chief of police. They would rather gain by traffic violations than stop crime and the selling of pills, crack and whatever.

I do believe in state’s rights though. If left alone, all the assets we have could make us the richest, most prosperous state in the union. Coal, lumber, natural gas. A chemist from Atlanta, Ga., told me that it would be quite easy to make an automobile that could be driven by coal and not give out toxic fumes that the U.S. says it would.

We need to shake up the city police, the sheriff’s department, the governor in Charleston, Rahall in Washington and the president himself. I see ambulance after ambulance and no deputy sheriff’s cars.

Everyone who reads this article should pray. It is written in the Bible, first come last, last come first. I believe we all can come together as one.

I’m not a rebel or Yankee. I’m a full — grown Mountaineer. It comes down to this, either we take action now and speak up and come together or we will continue to be taken advantage of and not even be able to look at our own self in the mirror for the shame of a few draining our state.

We have thousands upon thousands of Mountaineers who could ask our governor and Sen. Manchin to help us because we are dying fast. Please, West Virginia, step up; write Rahall, Manchin; pray, pray, pray. Stand up. Be Mountaineer proud.

May God look after us all. Come together, make a stand. God bless you and your children. I love you all.
