It’s wrong to compare God, Jesus to diarrhea

I don’t profess to know what an atheist believes or doesn’t believe. And what do they think happens after they die? Do they really think that’s the end of their existence?

But what I do know is that anyone who compares God and his Son Jesus to diarrhea has just bought himself a one-way ticket to an everlasting, burning hell.

Realtors appreciate bowl-a-thon support

Once again this year it was my pleasure to help coordinate the Beckley Board of Realtors MDA Bowl-a-thon. Every year, the community comes through with donations of money, time and prizes to make this event a success.

First, I need to thank the owners of Leisure Lanes for their generosity. Along with providing us with their facility, they provide their staff to help us run things throughout the evening. They also provide us with a great meal during the event.

We couldn’t do it without them and I really appreciate their help.

Next we have our lane sponsors. This year they include Assist-2-Sell Realty, BB&T Bank, Beckley Board of Realtors, Biggs Insurance, ERA Advantage Realty, Fayette County National Bank, Honey Do Construction, Huntington Bank, Kevin Traube, Prudential Sigmund-McLean & Associates Realtors, Raleigh General Hospital, Reedy Construction, Tim Berry Real Estate and West Virginia Realty Pros.

Donations for our silent auction came from Compute One, Mountain State Miniature Golf, Raleigh Playhouse & Tavern, Tamarack and The Cabins at Pine Haven. Please keep these civic minded businesses in mind if you ever need their services.

Who were the 1942 national champions?

Mickey Furfari wrote that WVU was considered national champion in 1942 as a result of winning the National Invitation Tournament in New York City.

Compare: NCAA Tournament consisted of Dartmouth, Illinois, Kentucky, Penn State, Colorado, Kansas, Rice and Stanford with Stanford winning the national championship in games played in Kansas City. Only one team from the Kansas/Missouri area.

The National Invitation Tournament, played in New York City, had Long Island University, City College of New York; Rhode Island, Toledo, Western Kentucky., West Texas State, Creighton and WVU.

Which sounds like a tournament whose winner would be considered national champion?
