Let’s remember the  reason for the season

At this special time of year, I wonder how many stop to remember that the birth of Jesus is why we celebrate Christmas?

That night the shepherds heard the angels sing about the promise of peace on earth, goodwill toward men.

God sent Jesus into the world to deliver a message that contains the means of fulfilling that promise.

The gospel Jesus preached tells us how we ought to live if we hope our souls will be allowed to go to heaven and stay there forever when our time here on earth is over

Jesus said following His instructions is the way that leads to heaven.

He said the first thing we have to do is repent. That means to change our minds, to see what is really important, to decide to only do good things and stop committing sins.

After that Jesus said we must love everyone and be good to each other, and especially help those in need.

Surely this is the short and simplified version, but every word of it is true, and you can read more about it in greater detail in the writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in the New Testament.

May the true meaning of Christmas bless the hearts, lives and minds of everyone who reads these words, and may peace on earth, goodwill toward men become a reality for us all.

Thank you for donation of gloves and hats

Warm hands from warm hearts of West Virginia Is a Fayette County-based non profit organization which supplies gloves and hats to the elementary schools in our county.

As we wind down for our first year we would like to thank all those who generously donated to make this A success.

With the help of so many we were able to deliver 800 sets of gloves and hats. We were also able to include 500 pairs of socks along with some other winter items.

Once again we would like to say thank you and God bless.
