It’s time to clean house in Washington

Rep. Nick Rahall is at it again, trying to snow the people in District 3 with his talking about the good things in the health care bill that he just voted for. Remember a few weeks back when the EPA held the 78 mining permits for so-called review and he supported their decision to do so. Didn’t sound too encouraging for our coal industry, did it?

I think he has been brown nosing Pelosi too long. After all, she said the Democrats had a victory when New Jersey and Virginia elected Republican governors. Huh?

Why didn’t Rep. Rahall mention the higher taxes, additional spending raising the deficit another half a trillion. He also didn’t mention the fact that if you don’t subscribe to the health care you can be fined and sent to jail. This kind of B.S. is exactly why we need to elect someone else who is going to tell the whole truth and help the American people rather than bankrupt the country.

Because of these idiots, starting with Obama, and coming down the chain, Pelosi, Reid, Congress and the House, this country is going down the drain fast.

It’s time to clean house on both sides of the isle starting at the top. We need to eliminate the socialists one at a time if necessary until we get our country back. We don’t need government control in our lives. How much freedom will you have if the government takes control and tells you how to live your lives? Remember we’re not Russia or China, we’re America “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

So voters remember this when election time comes around, vote for someone who will help you and your family. It’s time to rectify our mistakes by electing new faces rather than continue the same as usual course of re-electing the professional politicians that we’ve had for a lifetime.

People please go to the polls and vote. This beloved country cannot afford Obama’s socialistic changes.

Enough time spent on metro government

Which part of no do you guys not understand? The N or the O? Don’t you think that there has been enough time spent on this issue? Sen. McCabe introduced this bill several years ago for Kanawha County and after much time and money got it passed requiring a super majority vote, and then last session they wasted more time and money cutting the vote requirement down to a simple majority. After all of this the leaders in that area say due to rejection that metro government is dead.

Metro government is not necessarily rejected just because as you stated of “political turf.” People actually are opposed to a local government infringing on their way of life and especially if they cannot vote for these leaders. You are proving my point here, that it doesn’t matter what the people think, the leaders know best.

Small cities that cannot afford to pay their bills probably have a drop in population that does not require them to have their own police department. In my observance the State Police and sheriff patrol seem to try and set up branches pretty close to most areas and maintain fair response time.

This whole argument is based on acquiring grants and saving money. First of all, passing this would not increase the population by one or move us any closer together. You may request a grant based on a population that spreads across the county, but I have not been convinced this would increase chances of getting money from whomever. Yes maybe money could be saved, but at what cost to our freedom and ability to have a voice.

Being a past legislator I can tell you we are wasting time and money trying to get approval by the people unless you plan to force this down their throats.

People live in the country for a reason, others live in the city as I do, and we make our decisions based on different factors, one being that we do not want others breathing down our necks or imposing their government on us.
