Wake up America before it is too late

I watched on TV last week Obama’s righteous indignation when the Senate voted down his gun control bill. Where was Obama when “Fast and Furious” and Benghazi was news? He and his administration were in hiding and determining how they could cover things up and get off the hot seat.

Shame on the media and the public for allowing Obama and his cronies to cover up these errors. Hillary Clinton is no better than Obama. She is as phony as Obama. She was the head of the State Department and hid for weeks before she came forward with her lame answers. The media, congress and public gave her a pass. Do you really think she should be our next president? The cover up of these debacles smell. President Nixon was run out of office for a lot less.

Obama speaks about “rush to judgment.” He is the one who rushes to judgment. Obamacare is going to be a farce. I guess it’s like Pelosi said “You gotta pass it to see what’s in it.” Is this the way to run a country? This kind of crap is destroying the USA.

I am really concerned that with so many people on the dole the U.S. will never be able to elect a responsible President again. The gridlock on Capital Hill is mainly the result of how Obama governs.

Wake up America before it is too late. Shame on the media and the lady moderator who gave Obama cover during the debate. It helped him immensely to recover and get re-elected. Thank God I am in my 70s and probably won’t see what this country becomes.

Righteousness cannot be legislated

How long, do you suppose, will it be before our legislative bodies become embroiled in great debate as to whether pressure cookers with a capacity greater than four quarts should be considered “assault” weapons and consequently their purchase banned? Or perhaps a national registry will be implemented whereby all those who purchase “legal” pressure cookers will be required to provide documentation.

Righteousness cannot be legislated. To those who have personally suffered as a result of this tragedy, and to those who will accuse me of being insensitive to their feelings, let me also add that God is Sovereign — He is in control of everything. Although, at this time, it may be difficult to understand and accept — in time, He will provide the comfort that is so necessary and longed for.

Legislation may be necessary, but not as necessary as a change in the heart of man. There is only one that can accomplish this in us — Jesus, the Christ. Paul attempted to explain to the so called learned men of Athens that “the times of ignorance God overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent, because He has fixed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by a man (Jesus) whom He has appointed” (Acts 17:30-31). Later, when addressing the Corinthians, a culture very similar to our modern day, expounding the Old Testament prophet Isaiah, he declared, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2).

Whether ancient Athenians, carnal Corinthians, or 21st century citizens of the world, what has always been needful was to heed the Word of God and allow our hearts to be changed...becoming “servants of righteousness.”
