Families that work, play and pray together stay together

We need strong ears to hear ourselves judged frankly, and because there are very few who can endure it without its biting, those who venture to undertake this show a remarkable act of friendship; for to undertake to wound and offend a man for his own good is to have a healthy love for him. I find it a harsh task to judge a man in whom the bad qualities exceed the good. “Plato” prescribes three qualities in a man who wants to examine another man’s soul: knowledge, goodwill, boldness. (Montaigne)

Guinness World Records 2013, military might at a glance, military spending No. 1, U.S. $711 billion. No. 2, China, $143 billion (U.S. dollars). Estimates the top nine countries below the U.S. spend $575.3 billion total. The U.S. spent $200 billion more than all of the others in the top 10.

The U.S. debt ceiling is $16.7 trillion. The U.S. has five percent of the world’s population and uses 25 percent of the oil produced each year. The most oil used by the U.S. is by the armed forces. We buy our oil. We spend 60 percent of our yearly federal budget for military.

We spend six percent on education. We need an equal education amendment in our constitution. We pass referendums to support our schools and we give the children 99 cents when it cost a dollar to get an education.

Four percent of our budget goes to homeland security each year. We need to up our U.S. Post Offices back in a cabinet post. The Post Office is the most dependable and the most secure homeland security we have. Trusted. Communications.

The National Guard is overseas when we need them here to patrol our streets until we’ve got the drug problem stopped. We have to stop pharmaceutical production of narcotic pain pills for this to happen.

Families that have children, do you let your children in the bedroom while you’re procreating? If not, why do you let them see movies and television with aggressive sexual behavior? I’m sure 13- and 14-year-old children find this interesting and inspiring.

What drugs the adults can get, the children can get; what pornography adults can get, children can get. When I was a child, there were no pornography magazines sold. But the magazines could be bought on the black market.

If you love your children, you will behave. Children’s lives should be filled with accomplishment and romance, not dirty jokes; we are our brothers’ keepers.

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a thief from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.” — Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Families that work, play and pray together stay together.
