Think carefully before choosing socialism

At the Democratic Convention, President Obama promised us the sun, moon and stars. Of course he knew he couldn’t deliver, but the audience was thrilled.

Our country is so in debt till we can’t even pay the interest, and the unemployment numbers are incorrect because many people have quit looking for a job. The search for truth was missing at the convention.

One of the speakers said, “We belong to the government. Our founding fathers fought for our freedom and once we give it up for socialism it’s almost impossible to get it back.”

You need to take a long, hard look at Greece and see if that’s what you really want for our country.

What Obama tells us and what he truly believes are very different. What he tells us and what he does are very different things.

We are in the third generation of welfare. Where does that lead us? Of course, it gets votes and more socialism step by step.

Please think about your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It will be impossible for them to get out from under the burden we are placing on them.

We used to be such proud and independent people. What happened to us? Food for thought.

Thanks to Realtor who was so helpful

Several months ago I sold a house in Beckley. I enlisted Carolyn Stover of Prudential Sigmund McLean Realtors as my real estate agent. Her professionalism through a difficult time and her go-overboard attitude and actions for her client deserve recognition. She helped my family move my father-in-law to Virginia, brought him breakfast when he needed it, checked on him regularly and helped immensely with the move and sale.

She went far beyond just being a Realtor, but acted as a friend and was always there when needed.

Hats off to you, Carolyn!
